The 107 foot tall Big Sable Point Lighthouse was built in 1867. The light tower
is connected by a covered passage to the keepers dwelling, which was built to house
two keepers and their families. Located in Ludington State Park, you can reach the
lighthouse buy a trail about 1 1/2 mile long or walk directly up the beach. It is
open during the summer months to visitors.
